Jacquelyn J. Overholser Walsh, 89, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2021 at Wellbrooke of South Bend.
She was born on November 11, 1931 to the late Victor and Marie (Michalski) Slott in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Strom; a sister, Virginia Michaels; two great grandchildren; and her husband, Thomas of nearly 50 years.
Jacquelyn was a graduate of South Bend Catholic High School.
She was retired from Hoffman Brothers Auto Parts in South Bend, IN, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 30 years.
On May 31, 1952, as Jacquelyn J. Slott, she married Thomas Overholser in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame. He passed away on February 11, 2003. She then married James T. Walsh on September 20, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger, IN.
Jacquelyn is survived by her husband, James T. Walsh of South Bend, IN; two daughters, Sue (Michael) Monahan of South Bend, IN; Nancy (Michael) Deneen of South Bend, IN; ten grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Jacquelyn was a member of St. Pius X Parish and Daughters of Isabella #572, where she was very active. She loved crocheting, sewing, traveling, gardening, cooking, and baking, especially chocolate chip cookies. She was an excellent Polka dancer and enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN, where friends and family may visit one hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
