Harold W. Sisco Obituary

Harold “Sisco”, 80, of New Carlisle, In, answered the Lord’s call at 11:15 PM Thursday, December 8, 2022 in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side.

He was born to the late Alvin Lee Sisco, Sr and Vada (Lilly) Sisco.  On April 27, 1942 in Success, Arkansas.  His family moved to Indiana when he was a young boy. He has lived in the New Carlisle area most of his life.  He began working for local farmers driving truck loads of grain before he was legally old enough to drive.  He graduated with the New Carlisle High School Class of 1960.  “Sisco” served in the 5th Bn 60th Artillery Battery of the U.S. Army reserves for six years.  He was honorably discharged November 30, 1971 with the rank of Sergeant.  On September 18, 1976 he took Ruth Ann Newcomer as his bride at Sauktown Church of Christ in Mill Creek.  Harold, Ruth and little Shannon made three, an instant family.  They have been married 46 years.  Harold was employed as a journeyman tool grinder and tool maker.  He retired from Bendix after 31 years on June 1, 1999.  He worked hard all his life, living a simple but most satisfying life.  Harold was blessed to have close siblings and many faithful forever friends.  Most of all it was his family he thought of as God’s greatest gift of all.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Sisco of New Carlisle, IN; daughter, Shannon (Scott) Kelley; grandchildren, Joel and Julia Kelley, all of Hudson Lake, IN; his sister, Beatrice Minich of New Carlisle, IN; sister-in-law, Carol Sisco of Niles, MI; and his brother, Charles (Rosie) Sisco of South Bend, IN.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Lee Sisco, Jr.

Services for Harold will be Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11am (Eastern time) at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN.  Friends may visit from 9am until the time of service.  Burial immediately following in New Carlisle Cemetery.  (Considering this is flu season, mask are welcome but not required)
