Gregory L. Taylor, 71, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2025, in the Raclin House. Greg was born on November 12, 1954 in South Bend, Indiana to William L. and Ruth A. (Noens) Taylor. He had been formerly employed with United Fixtures in Niles, Michigan. Greg is survived by two daughters, Brook (Eli) Vargas of Tacoma, Washington and August C. Taylor of South Bend, Indiana; his son Joseph R. (Shanna) Taylor of Mishawaka, Indiana; five grandchildren, Garrett R. Neugent, Kaylin Neugent, Paige Taylor, Kaile Taylor and Lilyana Dosono; two great-grandchildren, Willow Ostrem and Emily Ostrem; two sisters, Cynthia L. (Charles) Roach of South Bend, Indiana and Leigh Ann (Ronnie) Smith of Kentucky; and two brothers, Ray and Gary (Robynn) Taylor both of South Bend, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Gregory served his country honorably for 8 ½ years in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Greg also served in the Iran hostage deployment to free American hostages. He retained the rank of Staff Sergeant and had two honorably discharges. He was a member of the American Legion Post 161 in Mishawaka, Indiana, the Vietnam Veterans of America of South Bend, Indiana and the Marine Corp Detachment 95 of South Bend, Indiana Indiana.
