Gladys "Peg" A. Zolman

Gladys “Peg” A. Zolman, 93, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana to the late James Robert and Icel Claire (Barnes) McClure. On August 5, 1950 in the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church she married John E. Zolman, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 2, 2009. Peg was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Ferguson, two sisters, Betty McDonald and Doris Roberta “Bobbi” Panozzo and one brother, Charles “Bud” McClure. She is survived by two daughters, Yvonne (Richard) Challinor of New Carlisle, Indiana, Roberta (William Baril) Hopkins of Noblesville, Indiana, two sons, John E. (Nikki) Zolman, Jr. of LaPorte, Indiana, Dan (Alma) Zolman of Mishawaka, Indiana, one foster daughter, Debra Anglemyer of Niles, Michigan, ten grandchildren, Melissa (Ed) Bartoszewicz, Richard (Robyn) Challinor, Jr., Sunni (John) Kegebein, Christine (Juan) Santos, Mike (Christy) Blosser, Alysia (Gus) Holwerda, Derek (Kara) Ferguson, Lex Zolman, Adam Zolman and Aldan Zolman, twelve great grandchildren and one sister, Sharon McClure. 

She enjoyed bingo, birdwatching, jigsaw puzzles, and crosswords, as well as staying active with the American Legion. One would often see her collecting money for the Friday night fish fry. She has touched the lives of many around town and will be greatly missed.

Please join us as we celebrate her life. A visitation for Peg will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, IN from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm EDT. She will be buried at a later date in Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Post #297 New Carlisle in Peg’s honor.
