Gladys D. Nowak

Gladys D. Nowak, 92, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:45 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 in Wellbrooke of South Bend. Gladys was born on April 18, 1926 in Mishawaka, Indiana to John and Anna (Stencel) Collins.   She retired in 1994 from the Bendix Corporation, where she was employed  as a Data Manager.  Gladys had been employed with Bendix Corporation for 35 years.  Gladys is survived by her four children, David (Mary Lou) Nowak of Naperville, Illinois, Marcia (Tony) Reinders of Orange, California, Larry (Nora) Nowak of Niles, Michigan and Lisa  (Jim) Batty of Bear Valley Springs, California; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Saty) Narine, Christopher Fox, David Nowak, Nora (Nikali) Luke, Stephen Batty, John (Kelsey) Geary, and Trevor Geary; three great-grandchildren, Oliver Narine, Lenix Luke, and Henley Luke; and her brother-in-law, Frank Simon.  Gladys was preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia Micinski, Anna Mae Voss, and Lucille Simon; and one brother, Edward Collins.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.  Private burial will take place Thursday in Highland Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
