Gerry G. Schimmel

Gerry G. Schimmel, 91, of Granger, IN, passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025 at BellTower Health and Rehabilitation Center, Granger.  She was born on May 27, 1933, in Canton, OH to the late Harry and Florence Reed.  Gerry married Clayton Schimmel on October 31, 1961, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1995.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mickey Schimmel on October 12, 2009 and a grandson, Kyle.  Mrs. Schimmel is survived by her children, Kathy Calvetti and Sheila Crandall, both of South Bend, Linda Shirey of Grove City, OH and Daniel Pinkstaff of Phoenix, AZ.  Gerry retired in 1995 from the South Bend School Corporation, where she worked as a Bus Driver for 18 years.  Cremation will take place.  Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday June 2, 2025 in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.  Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 S.
