George Hiram Early

On September 10, 2024, George Hiram Early, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lover of all animals, the Cubs, the Bears, the Fighting Irish, fast cars, and McDonald’s double cheeseburgers, lost his months long battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, listening to Willie Nelson with his family at his bedside.

George was kind, thoughtful, and very loved, and he will be missed terribly. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Early, and wife, Maribel Kelver Early, and survived by his daughters, Shawn Uemura (with son-in-law Jim Uemura and grandchildren Ryan and Alexandra Uemura) and Michelle Strobeck (with son-in-law Rob Strobeck and grandchildren Claire and Cade Strobeck).

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024, in the South Bend funeral home.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2024, in the funeral home.
