Freeman A. Schrock, 82, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 3:34 a.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023.  Freeman was born on August 3, 1941 in Noble County, Indiana to Amos and Elizabeth (Miller) Schrock.  He had a BA and Masters in Clinical Social Work and a BA and Masters in Theology. He was employed as a Social Worker in Elkhart County, Indiana for many years.  After that, Freeman served as a Minister in the LaPorte New Church.  He is survived by his daughter, Heather Baraka of Kona, Hawaii; his son, Jeffrey Schrock of South Bend, Indiana; one granddaughter, Nyah Baraka of Phoenix, Arizona; his former wife, Carol Troyer of Shipshewana, Indiana; three sisters, Mabel (Glen) Graber of Syracuse, Indiana, Loretta (Ivan) Wagler of Irwin, Ohio and Star Schrock of Ligonier, Indiana; four brothers, Clemens Schrock of Lakeland, Florida, LeRoy “Lee” Schrock of Elkhart, Indiana, Orva (Jenny) Schrock of Goshen, Indiana and Ray (Leah) Schrock of Goshen, Indiana.  Freeman was preceded in death by two infant brothers Alvin (1941) and Glenn (1947) and two adult brothers, Noah and Amos.  Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana 46628.  A visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.    Freeman valued education and Memorial Contributions can be directed to his granddaughter’s college fund via the family.
