Evelyn J. Kelley

Evelyn J. Kelley, 83, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 4:07 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, in her home.  Evelyn was born on August 3, 1940 in Galien, Michigan to Leonard G. and Lois (Berget) Zook.  She had lived in New Carlisle since she was a small girl.  Evelyn was employed for 7 years at New Prairie High School in the Food Service Department.  On April 11, 1959 in New Carlisle, Indiana she married Richard L. Kelley, who survives.  Evelyn is also survived by her daughter, Lori (John) Mrozinski of New Carlisle, Indiana; her son, Micheal (C.J.) Kelley of New Carlisle, Indiana; four grandchildren, Rachel Casto, Tyler (Renee) Kelley, Cody Kelley and Bruce Van Wanzeele; and four great-grandchildren, Natalie, Sarah, Maggie and Emmett.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie, who died at age 4; her sister Lillian Wagner; and her brother, who died as a baby, Raymond G. Zook.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m., E.D.T. until 1:00 p.m. E.D.T. Saturday, August 19, 2023 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana.  Evelyn  loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed going to garage sales, cooking and baking.  She always looked forward to going to breakfast or lunch with her girlfriends.
