Elsie I. Mroczkiewicz, 92 of South Bend, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, in her home. She was born on June 17, 1932, in South Bend to the late Michael and Julia (Bokter) Molnar. On October 20, 1962, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, she married Richard F. Mroczkiewicz, who preceded her in death on December 1, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher L. Mroczkiewicz and by four sisters and five brothers. Elsie is survived by her son, Richard F. (Sherry) Mroczkiewicz of South Bend and two daughters Sandra Moore of Indianapolis and Cynthia (Tim) Carlton of New Carlisle, nine grandchildren; Brandon (Megan) Carlton, Alicia (Robert III) Tetla, Richard J. Mroczkiewicz, Emily Moore, Elizabeth (Andrew) Pierce, Elleanne Moore, Cassie (Wayne) Beaird, Krystal (Mike) Werth and Kori (Tony) Bunch and by 6 great-grandchildren; Ava, Weylin, Mason, Andi, Sawyer, and Mercedes. Elsie worked for Country Cupboard in South Bend before retiring in 2008. She was a Parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee and enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on July 19, 2024 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 P.M. On Saturday, July 20, 2024 a visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at Kaniewski Funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
