Elizabeth "Liz" Overmyer

Elizabeth “Liz” Overmyer, 86 of Notre Dame, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. She was born on April 3, 1939 in Charleston, West Virgina to the late Harold and Ann Maranda. She is survived by her sister, Mary Truex of Niles, Michigan, three nephews, Chad (Judy) Truex of Elkhart, Indiana, Justin (Amy) Truex of Canton, Ohio and Drew (Clara) Truex of South Bend, Indiana and three great nieces and nephews, Gina Truex, Brandon Truex and Carrie Truex. Liz was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Greg Truex and great nephew, Stewart Truex.

Liz received her Masters from Ball State University. During most of her professional career she worked as a Corporate Secretary for The Ball Corporation. Her hobbies included gardening and reading. Liz participated in two book clubs. She was an active member at The Clay Church for many years. Liz will be remembered for her love of family and friends.

A visitation for Liz will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at The Clay Church, 52866 Ironwood Rd. South Bend, IN 46635 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the church. Private interment will take place at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie, Indiana.
