Elizabeth Ann Klaybor, 92, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2025, in the Providence Home, Mishawaka, Indiana. Elizabeth was born on July 21, 1932 in South Bend, Indiana to Sylvester and Helen (Zakrzewski) Zell. She had been employed as a secretary at the former C & E Trucking in South Bend. On September 22, 1951 she married Patrick Klaybor, who preceded her in death on December 15, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald and Sylvester Zell; her sister, JoAnn Isban; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Zell and Elizabeth Zell; and her brother-in-law, Leonard Isban. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Scott) Frasier of South Bend, Indiana; her son, Patrick (Linda) Klaybor of South Bend, Indiana; six grandchildren, Cassie (Alan Rubin) Frasier, Carly Frasier, Corey (Michelle) Frasier, Daniel Klaybor (Alexia La Spina), Rebecca Klaybor (Grant Van Parys) and Adam Klaybor; five great-grandchildren, Sadie, McKenzie, Calan, Ellie and Lizzie; her brother, James (Susan) Zell of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her sister-in-law, MaryAnn Kronewitter of Mishawaka, Indiana; and by many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a member of St. Matthew Parish and had been a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick Parish for five years. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, and card games with family and friends. Later in life she took up coloring as a hobby. Elizabeth was an avid Notre Dame women’s basketball fan and loved to watch both college and pro football. She was known for her spontaneous personality and zest for life. Memorial contributions should be directed to the Hospice Foundation or Real Services. The family wishes to thank Hospice Caregivers Jenny and Becky. Jennifer, for her loving care of Elizabeth and Becky for the fun times playing Bingo with Elizabeth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday in the Cathedral. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
