Edwin Joseph Ksiezopolski, 82, of Granger, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025 in his home leaving behind a legacy of strength and kindness.
Ed was born an only child on February 18, 1943 to the late Joseph and Jadwiga (Polack) Ksiezopolski in Warsaw, Poland. Ed immigrated to the United States at the age of five where he became a lifelong resident of the South Bend/Granger area.
Ed was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend, IN and later attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where he earned an Associate’s Degree. He also answered the call to serve his country in the U.S. Army Reserves during his youth. On July 9, 1966, he married Esther M. Urbanski at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in South Bend, IN.
Ed was a well-respected Innovator and Entrepreneur in the RV Industry from the 1970’s until his passing. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed time with his family and friends, competing and winning numerous golf tournaments throughout the years at Knollwood County Club, settling up bets on the front, back and total with “The Gamblers”, buying-in on the poker table and sinking the eight ball into the side pocket. His always-even demeanor led way to his nickname Steady Eddy among Chaz and Tennessee.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Sue (Richard) Moore of Granger, IN; his son, Kevin (Emily) Ksiezopolski of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Megan and Natalie Moore; and Max and Kate Ksiezopolski. Along with his parents; Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. Ksiezopolski.
Ed’s family would like to give a special thanks to his caregiver Bridgette Ford for her compassion, heartfelt professionalism, and friendship through the years.
Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, IN. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
