Donald Cornett Obituary

Donald Morgan Cornett, 85, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021. He was born on March 21, 1936 in Lothair, Kentucky to the late Charles and Fanny (Wooten) Cornett. Donald is survived by three daughters, Donna Smith of Frankfort, Kentucky, Jean (David) Sovinski of Annapolis, Maryland, Mary Lyczynski of Elkhart, Indiana, two sons, Edward (Ramona) Cornett of Galien, Michigan, Charlie (Meredith) Cornett of Murrieta, California, 14 grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Christine, Casey, Nick, Ryan Mary, Eric, Betty, Emily, Amanda, Andrew, Kennedy, and Katie, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters, Peggy Back of Dayton, Ohio, and Shirley (Jim) Lehman of Dayton, Ohio. Donald was preceded in death by his parents (Charles and Fanny), brothers Buster and Jimmy and sister Anne.

 

Donald was a proud veteran of The United States Navy. He enjoyed many things in life especially spending time with his family, Notre Dame Football and golfing. He was an enthusiast when it came to his home state of Kentucky and enjoyed sharing interesting facts to any audience he shared the love of Kentucky with. He was very proud of his family’s history  and would share his ancestry as often as he could. Private family services will be held. Donald will be laid to rest in Resthaven cemetery in Kentucky.
