Dolores J. Hussey

Dolores (Dolly) J. Hussey, 97, of Whiting, IN, passed away peacefully at 10:53 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Miller’s Merry Manor in New Carlisle, IN.

She was born on January 19, 1927 to the late Thomas Joseph and Anna Wanda (Dolata) Hussey in Whiting, IN.  Dolly lived in Whiting 93 years before moving to Nappanee, IN, to be near her brother Ron and sister-in-law Judy.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings Evelyn Kurek, Gene Kinsock, Thomas, Roger, and Ronald Hussey.  She is survived by many nieces and nephews.   

Dolly graduated from Whiting High School before going to work for Indiana Bell/AT&T, where she had various positions, including draftsperson for documenting and locating utility lines. 

Dolly grew up in the Catholic community of Sacred Heart Church in Whiting where she belonged her entire life and was part of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.  She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed reading. 

Per Dolly’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services.  Cremation will take place with burial at a later date at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond alongside her parents and siblings.
