Dolores T. Bosworth

Dolores T. Bosworth, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 2, 2021 in South Bend, IN.

An only child and the darling of her parents, she was born to Edward and Cecelia Bogdanowic on November 20, 1928 in Chicago, IL. Dolores graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended Loyola University in Chicago. She was working as a secretary in downtown Chicago when she met Elton “Ward” Bosworth, the dashing engineer and love of her life. They married in 1948. They raised their four children in Illinois, where Dolores was active in her church community and worked as a secretary. Dolores and Ward moved to Ft. Myers, FL where they spent many happy years playing golf and tennis, hosting parties, playing bridge and making the most of retired life.

Dolores had a passion for seeing the world and traveled often with family and friends; always finding time to write post cards to her grandchildren. She had a great love of music and dancing and could often be found tapping her feet and humming a tune from her youth when she wasn’t cheering on her Chicago Cubs.

Dolores is survived by son Kenneth (Pam) Bosworth; daughter Karen (Rick) McCoy; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ward, children, Ellen and James, and great-granddaughter Callie McCoy. Private family graveside services will be held in St. Adalbert’s Catholic Cemetery in Niles, Illinois. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dolores’s honor to Southern Care Hospice Services, 1626 E.
