Dennis M. Botka, 72, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 1:42 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, in his home after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Dennis was born on December 20, 1952, in South Bend to Richard L. and Alice F. (Barczykowski) Botka and was a lifelong resident. On June 8, 2002, he married Sandra M. Foreman (Hoose), who survives. Dennis is also survived by three daughters, Emily (Jim) Matz of South Bend, Indiana, Lisa (Kevin Nolan) Botka of Lafayette, Indiana and Stephanie Foreman of South Bend, Indiana; two sons, Louis Botka and Sean Foreman both of South Bend, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Payton, Sylvia, Judah, Theo, Niko, Bexley, Iggy, Odin and Kayin; and his sister, Denise Botka of South Bend, Indiana. Dennis graduated from St. Joe High School in 1971. He was employed at AM General as an Electrician for 43 years 8 months and 19 days (per his account) and was a member of UAW Local 5. He bowled for over 20 years at Parkway Lanes in Mishawaka, earning a ring for a 299 game. Dennis was also an avid Harley-Davidson Motorcycle rider and has always loved music of all kinds, sharing it with his children and making sure they knew the classics. He was a founding participant in the We Together Singers, a local youth folk group that released albums in the early 1970s. He loved supporting his grandchildren and attending their sporting events and performances. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend Indiana, with a rosary and blessing at 4:30 pm.
