Dennis J. Orban

Dennis James Orban, 64, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026. He was born March 30, 1962 in South Bend, Indiana to Donald Orban, Sr. and Judith (Hoff) Henthorn. Dennis was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Donald Orban, Jr. He is survived by one daughter, Jessica (Shane) Archer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, one son, Ryan (Jessica) Orban of Memphis, Tennessee, his mother, Judith Henthorn of South Bend, Indiana, four grandchildren, Cadence Orban, Jaxon Orban, Rowan Archer and Tobias Archer, his significant other, Kathy Sommer, one brother, Troy Orban and two sisters, Melinda Land and Donna Locklear.

Dennis was a graduate of accounting from Manchester college, a licensed CPA, retired from EFP in Elkhart, IN. He had a master's from the University of Notre Dame Mendoza college of business. He enjoyed life at the lake, fishing and boating with Kathy. He was an excellent cook, especially grilling. He enjoyed watching the birds, being outside, traveling, and floating at Big Barbee Lake.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1050 Wilber St., South Bend, IN. Visitation for Dennis will be held following the Mass from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 29 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN. Dennis will be buried at a later date in Highland Cemetery.
