Dennis A. Horvath

Dennis Alan Horvath, 78, of Buchanan, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in his home. He was born on May 5, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Benedict and Florence (Beczkiewicz) Horvath. On May 6, 1967 he married Evelyn Susan Jenczewski in St. Casimir Catholic Church who survives him. Dennis is also survived by two daughters, Michelle (Jim) Korteway of Three Rivers, Michigan, Janet Crabtree of South Bend, Indiana, seven grandchildren; Kaitlyn (Clay) Cassidy (Nick), Matthew (Jess), Zachary, Dylan, Brenden and Carly, one great granddaughter, Alexandra, one brother, Gregory (Lee) Horvath of Indianapolis, Indiana, three sisters-in-laws, Lorraine Sieradzki, Joan Perusek and Janet Horvath. Dennis was also preceded in death by one brother Kenneth Horvath and two brother-in-laws, Jerry Sieradzki and Frank Perusek.

He will be remembered for his sharp wit, deep faith, and love for life’s simple pleasures–especially the time he spent on their Kelsey Farms, where tending the land brought him quiet purpose and peace. He spent countless hours at the kitchen table sharing stories that brought his family together. His sense of humor and easygoing spirit brought joy to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A visitation for Dennis will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm in the funeral home. A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday May 29, 2025 at St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr Church, 415 N. Brookfield St, South Bend, IN at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
