It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David A. Hagedorn (Boss), a beloved father and grandfather. David, aged 73, was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, where he spent his life spreading love and kindness to all those around him. On March 24, 2025, Jesus welcomed him home at the gates, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and generosity.
David was known for his warm and loving nature, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. As a mechanic by trade, he used his skills to not only fix cars but also mend broken hearts. His favorite catchphrase, "reet," was a reflection of his easygoing and cheerful personality, bringing joy to all who knew him. He was known to be charismatic, lively, and a character to be around. David loved music; he would listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Blue Brothers. He met his wife, Connie Maleufant. They have two sons David J. Hagedorn and Daniel R. Hagedorn. David had one daughter in law, Kelly M. Hagedorn. David had two grandchildren Danielle P. Hagedorn and Gabrielle M. Hagedorn. David has two surviving sisters Becky Zarobinski and Debra Kiska.
Throughout his life, David touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He was a pillar of strength for his family and friends, always there to offer support and guidance in times of need. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
