Darlene Macon Obituary

Darlene Macon

August 15, 1953 – July 10, 2026

Darlene Macon, 72, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, after a valiant fight with cancer. Born on August 15, 1953, in Niles, Michigan, Darlene lived a life rooted in love, growth, and dedicated service to others.

For 15 years, Darlene was a cherished employee at Hope Ministries. For her, Hope Ministries was far more than just a workplace—it was a family. She deeply loved being part of their mission to provide hope and support to those in need, a philosophy she mirrored in her personal life. She was always ready to extend a helping hand and a compassionate heart to anyone who crossed her path.

Darlene had an undeniable passion for life and a boundless curiosity. She constantly challenged herself to learn new things, often sharing her belief that "when you stop learning, you stop growing."

Above all, Darlene’s greatest joy was her family. She loved to travel, explore, and spend quality time with her friends and loved ones. She shared countless special moments with her daughters and grandchildren, and there was always a new trip or family outing in the works.

Darlene’s legacy of love, curiosity, and generosity lives on through her family. She is survived by her two devoted daughters, Kelli Lorraine Macon Woods (Ronald Woods Jr.) and Bobbie Macon Kiene (Tony Kiene); her cherished sister, Jean Bradley; and her beloved grandchildren, Kiara Darlene Kiene, Azianara Lanece Woods, Ziarah Marie Woods, Ronald "Tre'" Woods III, great granddaughter D'lylah Lorraine Miller, and a wealth of treasured nieces and nephews.

She was previously married to Bobby Macon, who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dessie Lee Cobb; her father, Alonzo Moss; her grandmother, Lena Briggs; and her siblings, Monie Kay Murphy, Larry Fox, Sr., Margaret Ann Fox Danquah, Augustine Kyles, Dwight Moss, Leroy Cobb, Jr., and Kenny Cobb.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
