Daniel Paul Cischke, Sr., 75, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022, in his home. Daniel was born on October 31, 1946 in South Bend, Indiana to Harold F. and Elizabeth Margaret (Muszynski) Czischke. He retired in January 2012 from Steel Warehouse, where he was employed as a truck driver. Daniel is survived by two sons, Daniel P. Cischke, Jr. and Brian (Fatema) Cischke both of South Bend, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Cameron, Katelyn, Brandon, Christian and Madyson; four great-grandchildren, Charolette, Delhila, Jackson, and Isabella; two sisters, Julie Buck of Granger, Indiana and Christine (David Pendl) Koshack of Osceola, Indiana; his brother, Harold (Yuki) Cischke of Indianapolis, Indiana; his former wife, Patricia Cischke; and many nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Lori Cischke. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, with Military Honors to follow at 7:00 p.m. Daniel was a served in the United States Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. Daniel Cischke was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, husband, and friend to all who knew him. He loved football, baseball, polish food, Beer, country music, and spending time with his grandchildren whenever he could. One of the things he loved most was supervising and being the boss. He loved his grandchildren more than life itself. He spent countless hours teaching them how to drive. He also loved his high school sweetheart Patricia Cischke dearly, and always made sure she was taken care of. He will truly forever be missed by all who knew him.
