Charles P. Fricano Obituary

Charles "Chuck" P. Fricano, 84, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Mishawaka, IN.

He was born on February 1, 1941 to the late Cologero "Kelly" and Theresa (Di Stefano) Fricano in Benton Harbor, MI.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita (Gamble) Fricano, step son-in-law, George Kennach, former step son-in-law, Michael Gorzkiewicz and step great-granddaughter, Charlotte Vanderbosch.

Chuck graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1959.

He retired from Motion Industries, where he worked for 37 years.

An avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, Chuck also enjoyed travel and dancing with Rita.

Chuck is survived by his four stepdaughters, Margaret Vanderbosch of North Liberty, IN; Debbie (Mark) Obren of Leesburg, FL; Teresa Vanderbosch (Paul Szymanski) of Granger, IN; Kathy Kennach of South Bend, IN; one stepson, John (Lisa) Vanderbosch of South Bend, IN.; 16 step grandchildren, Evan Gorzkiewicz, Matthew Gorzkiewicz, Kelsey (Greg) Howard, Erin (Drew) Oshesky, Chad (Emily) Vanderbosch, Kevin Obren, Sarah Obren, Lynette Kennach, Rita Kennach, George (Aralynn) Kennach, Alex Kennach, Wallace Kennach, Taft (Elise) Kennach, Jan (Sangele) Uaita, Kathy (Valu) Kennach, and Junior (Angel) Kennach; 21 step great-grandchildren, Colt Gorzkiewicz, Colin Howard, Aubrey Howard, Bosch Oshesky, Carson Vanderbosch, Jackson Vanderbosch, Mizaella Kennach, Isabella Kennach, Taft Kennach, Leala Uaita, Reniva Uaita, Scott Uaita, Valeen Kennach, JJ Kennach, Vanessa Kennach, Tutituri Kennach, Prince Kennach, Leila Boyd, Kali Boyd, Hoffman Kennach, Henderson Kennach.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a rosary. The visitation will conclude at 11:20 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 52743 State Hwy 933, South Bend, IN. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame IN.
