Charles "Gene" E. Miller

Charles “Gene” E. Miller, 85 of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 1, 1940 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Kenneth Woodrow and Helen Fern (Sloterback) Miller. Gene was also preceded in death by one baby girl Miller. On July 1, 1962 he married Sandra Barlow in El Paso, Texas who survives him. Gene is also survived by one daughter, Deborah (Mark) Miller of South Bend, Indiana, one son, Kenneth (Catherine) Miller of South Bend, Indiana and two grandchildren, Kaitie and Kallie Miller.

Gene was a graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After serving in the Army he came home and worked for the Indiana Toll Road. He later would become an Operating Engineer at the Bayer Corp where he retired from on December 31, 2005. Gene was an associate member of the German Township Fire Department.

Private family services and burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery.
