Carolyn A. Raab, R.N.

Carolyn A. Raab, 74, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in her daughter's home.  Carolyn was born on July 17, 1943 in South Bend to John and Alvina (Jaronik) Jagnecki, and was a lifelong resident.  She was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, retiring in 1996.  Over her career, Carolyn was employed by the Visiting Nurse Association, Farris Lombardy Nursing Home, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and the former Michiana Community Hospital.  On November 13, 1965, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana, she married F. William “Bill” Raab, who survives. They lived and loved through good times and bad for 52-1/2 years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dr. Catherine A. (Andrew) Whitcroft and Cynthia A. Vasta both of Mishawaka, Indiana; one son, Brian Raab of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Mika Janelle Raab Whitcroft, Zane Whitcroft, Salvatore W. Vasta, Blaise Vasta, Jake, Joey and Andy Raab; one great granddaughter, Alycia Raven Manion; a sister, Marcia A. (Terrance) Kroll of South Bend, Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Jagnecki of Lakeville, Indiana and many beloved nieces and nephews.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alvina Jagnecki; her brother, Ronald J. Jagnecki; and cousin Bernadine DeGeeter.

Carolyn was a member of St. Pius X Parish and Choir and a former member of Holy Family Parish and Choir. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cardinals, geneology and spoiling her grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 in St. Pius X Church.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. Monday in St. Pius X Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Center for Hospice Care, Inc.
