Carol E. Jesswein

Carol Eileen Jesswein, 93, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1931 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Wilbur and Dora (Felton) Huge. On September 30, 1950 she married Devon Jesswein who preceded her in death on October 28, 2017. Carol was also preceded in death by six sisters, Elizabeth, Bertha, Francis, Doris, Erma and Wilma. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Kenneth) Kleine of New Carlisle, Indiana, two sons, David (Lisa) Jesswein of New Carlisle, Indiana and Dale Jesswein of New Carlisle, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Kim (Greg), Justin (Kari), Aaron (Erica), Corey (Katie), Erica (Jordan), Julie (Glen) and Jeff (Melissa), twelve great grandchildren and two sisters, Lydia Livinghouse of LaPorte, Indiana and Carolyn Snider of Attica, Indiana.

Carol loved reading and doing puzzles, along with her sisters.  The sisters had their own form of rotating the books and puzzles with each other.  She enjoyed watching the grandkids in their sporting events and showing their livestock at the St. Joe County Fair.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 am in the Kaniewski Funeral Home South Bend on Monday, February 17, 2025. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s honor the Lydick United Methodist Church or The Olive Township 4H Club.
