Brian Edward Torzewski

Brian Edward Torzewski, 73, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at The Center for Hospice Care Raclin House. He was born on February 10, 1953 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Alvin and Beverly (Smith) Torzewski. Brian is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Jane (Ryan) Tragesser of Fishers, Indiana, two grandchildren, Lance Allin and Audra Grace Tragesser, one brother, Mark (Michele) Torzewski of South Bend, Indiana and six nieces and nephews, Jacqueline (Mike), Allison (Neil), Mark (Courtney), Matthew (Kyra), Kaitlin and Michael (Ting). Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Korabek and one brother, David Torzewski.

Brian graduated from St. Joseph High School in South Bend where he played football and baseball. He started and ended his professional career at Carleton, Inc. in which he worked for fifty years. Brian enjoyed boating on Birch Lake in Vandalia, Michigan and Long Lake in Birchwood, Wisconsin. Brian was an avid race fan. He spent a lot of time attending NASCAR and Indy car races with his brother David and best friend Chuck Cealka. He enjoyed working in his yard, reading and detailing the whole family’s cars. Brian had recently spent a lot of time traveling to Fishers to watch his grandchildren’s soccer games. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. A Catholic funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s honor to St. Hedwig Catholic Church or The Hospice Foundation.
