Bill Shepard

Bill Shepard, 82, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Benson, Arizona.  Bill was born on December 24, 1939 in Brook, Indiana to Ardoth E. and Norline (Perkins) Shepard.  He retired in 1993 from Indiana State Police Department where he was employed for 28 ½ years.  Bill had also been employed in the Security Department at the Blue Chip Casino from 1997 -2002.  On September 28, 1958 in Morocco, Indiana he married Harlene E. Hansen, who preceded him in death on May 1, 2001. Bill is survived by his daughter, Donna K. (John) Mills of New Carlisle, Indiana; his son, Charles L. (Kathy) Shepard of Logansport, Indiana; two grandchildren, Kayla Mills and Ryan Shepard; one great-granddaughter, Emma J. Mills;  his brother, Ardoth “Bud” Shepard, II of Earl Park, Indiana; and Bill’s longtime companion, Mary Ann McCollough.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 in the New Carlisle Community Church.  Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  Bill was a member of the New Carlisle Community Church where he was a life elder.  He was also a member of the F.O.P. and the Sons of the American Post #297.
