Bice Zen Obituary

June 7, 1951-May 15, 2025

Angela was born in Rosa, Italy to Eliezer Angelo Zen and PasquaLina Moletta Zen. She immigrated to Chicago Illinois as a young girl with her family and grew up with two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her loving siblings, Paola Tulliani, Carmen Ciemney  and Joseph Zen, and was proceeded in death by her brother Remo Zen.

Angela had an a balance of grit, brilliance and endearing dizziness. She deeply cared for her family so much that her love often teetered on the edge of worry and looked a little bit crazy.  Her nephew Remo and niece Renee, can attest to this, as well, they were very close to her.

Angela married Robert Kadzielawski on September 14, 1974 together they shared many memorable years with their children. They had an unforgettable wedding reception at The Drake - fondly referred to later as “mistake at The Drake” following their divorce in 1991.

They shared two children, Danielle and Nicolas, that remember their childhood as the best times of their lives.

Her son Nicolas Zen Kadzielawski proceeded her in death on January 6, 2021, and we find peace, knowing they are together.

Angela had a very close and special bond with Makhayla Yunatanov, whom she loved as her family. She looked forward to Makhayla’s calls every Sunday.

Angela had one grandchild Catelyn Elizabeth Lee, who carries on her Nonna’s humor and beloved “Moletta mug”. She had one son in law Chuck Lee, that made “better barbecue than Kansas City” according to her.

Professionally, Angela was intelligent, ambitious and proud of her accomplishments. She returned to college later in life and earned her masters degree she worked in various executive roles and eventually retired as the director of pharmaceutical marketing for Safeway/Dominic’s.

She endured many personal losses throughout her life with resilience and she seemed to have found peace and contentment in her recent years.

Though her final months came with challenges, pain, and confusion, she handled it with strength and courage, and never complained.

Her family and loved ones will remember her for her crazy love, fiery Italian spirit, her fun humor and quiet strength she carried throughout her life.
