Beverly Daugherty, 77, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, July
22, 2026 at Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 10, 1948 in South
Bend to the late Bernard and Mary Alice (Ewald) Wentland. She was a graduate of
Clay High School class of 1967. On February 9, 1967, at Christ the King Catholic
Church, she married Mark W. Daugherty, who survives. Beverly is also survived by
two daughters, Jill Agostino of South Bend, Indiana, Jennifer Daugherty Slaby of
South Bend, Indiana; one son, Jeff (April) Daugherty of South Bend, Indiana; seven
grandchildren, Aaron (Bethany) Agostino, Derek Agostino, Caden Daugherty,
Karrigan Daugherty, Blayne (Sydney) Doll, Kendall Slaby and Evan Slaby; seven
great-grandchildren, Lainey and Bailey Agostino, Maison, Julian, Emilio and
Cecilia Agostino, and Kloey Miller; one sister, Marcia (Chris) Wagner of Granger,
Indiana; and one brother, Jim Wentland of Niles, Michigan. Beverly was also
preceded in death by one sister, Sue Gerrish.
She was a loving wife, mother, and cherished grandmother, who devoted her whole life
to her family. She was also a loyal friend whose kindness touched everyone she
met. She loved cooking for her family, camping, dancing, Elvis, and yearly trips to
Cedar Point with the grandkids. She took much pride in maintaining a clean home.
Beverly will be loved and truly missed by everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2026
at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN. A funeral
service will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 30 at the funeral home with
visitation from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
