Barbara J. (Siderits) Morlan

Barbara J. Morlan, 79, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN.

She was born on July 27, 1939 to the late John and Mary Catherine (Coleman) Siderits in South Bend, IN, and has lived in South Bend most of her life.  Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Michaels in 2015.

Barbara retired in 2003 from the office of Ron Wade O.D., where she worked as an Office Assistant for 12 years.  Prior to that, she worked as an Apartment Manager for various apartment complexes in both South Bend, IN and Dallas- Fort Worth, TX.

On September 2, 1994, as Barbara J. Siderits, she married Donald G. Morlan in Mishawaka, IN.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Donald Morlan of South Bend, IN; a son, Kevin (Nancy) Michaels of Lansing, MI; two step sons, Robert Morlan D.M.D. of Plymouth, MA; Thomas Morlan O.D. of South Bend, IN; her sister, Beverly (Michael) Lupa of Granger, IN; three grandchildren, Elliott, Andrew, and Robert Michaels; five step grandchildren, Nicole, Paige, Nicholas, Alex, and Nathan Morlan; and two great grandchildren, Kyla and Kate Michaels.

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Mishawaka, IN.  She was a volunteer for the church’s St. Vincent De Paul’s Conference and a volunteer advocate for the S-O-S of the Family Justice Center for seven years.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, IN  46544, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the mass on Friday.   Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
