Barbara A. Mork Obituary
Barbara Ann Mork, 86, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025.
Barbara was born in Minneapolis, MN in 1938 to Edward and Mary Glander. Ed worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone company and Mary worked at home and was a talented artist working in ceramics and painting. Barb had fond memories of attending school at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield and graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis. Mary passed her talents on to Barbara who developed a love for making and collecting dolls. Everyone who knew Barb came to know of her love and passion in caring for dogs, and there was nothing more fortunate than being one of Barbara Mork’s dogs.
Barbara met her husband Steve Mork in 1978 while working at Parka Insulation. Steve and Barbara were married in 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Through marriage, Barb became the step-mother of Michael Mork (husband Jason Ballew) and Todd Mork (wife Nicole Mork) and later the grandmother of Jessica and Calvin Mork and Mikaela and Rylah Mork.
Barbara moved back home to Richfield, MN after her husband Steve passed away in 2006. Barbara loved being back “home” and loved her neighborhood in Richfield. Barbara watched out for and cared for all of her neighbors, particularly Kari Toensing and Linda Crear.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Steve Mork, brother, Ed (Barb) Glander, Barbara Fox and grandson Calvin Mork. She is survived by her sister Judy (David) Diederich, two sons, Michael (Jason Ballew) Mork of Chicago, Illinois and Todd (Nicole) Mork of San Ramon, California, and three grandchildren, Jessica, Mikaela, and Rylah Mork.
