Barbara A. Bromley

Barbara A. Bromley, 92, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Miller’s Merry Manor, New Carlisle, Indiana.  Barbara was born on December 5, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana to Joseph A.  and Anna H. (Glon) Michalski.  She retired in 1995 from the University of Notre Dame, where she was employed for 27 years as a Researcher in Social Science.  On November 2, 1952 she married Larry O. Bromley, who preceded her in death on August 30, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Bromley; her parents, Joseph and Anna Michalski; and her brother, John Michalski.  Barbara is survived two daughters, Rita (David) Cavin of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and Sally (Jim) Brockwell of Huntertown, Indiana; two sons, Michael (Elizabeth “Ann”) Bromley of New Carlisle, Indiana and Mark (Cheryl) Bromley of Arkansas;  ten grandchildren, Joe and Justin Bromley; Melissa Florian and Jacob Bromley; Catherine Mrozinski and Heather Hale; Jamie and Jason Wayer; and Eric and Aaron Phovemire; and ten great-grandchildren.  To honor Barbara’s wishes she will be cremated.  Private graveside services will take place at New Carlisle Cemetery.  Barbara was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish and the New Carlisle Home Economics Clubs.  She enjoyed reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be directed to Olive Township 4-H Club.
