Obituary

Amelia G. Morris, 107, of Walkerton, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was born February 4, 1915 in Pullman, Illinois to the late George and Mary Kalafat. On February 16, 1937 she married Theodore S. Morris who preceded her in death on August 4, 2000. Amelia was also preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Marie Bennett. She is survived by one daughter, Eleanor (Randall) Lee of Mishawaka, Indiana, three grandchildren, Alicia (Joe) Kominowski, Randall Lee and Stacy (Joe) Pecsi, seven great grandchildren, Zoey, Quinn, Max and Ezra Kominowski, Joseph, Gabrielle and Emily Pecsi.

YiaYia, as she was known to her grandchildren, saw the importance of passing the traditions of her Greek heritage on to her family. She was a pillar of strength and love. She had passion for cooking and baking and being surrounded by those she loved.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Miller’s Merry Manor in Walkerton for their care and attention. The Center for Hospice for their compassion, care and support.

Private family services and burial have been held. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church or The Center for Hospice Care in Amelia’s honor. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
