Tom and Nancy Lake were cherished friends of my parents and an integral part of a circle of friends from the New Carlisle Methodist Church who were the village that raised their kids together. The Lakes were a fun and loving couple who hosted many snowmobiling, swimming, and wood-cutting parties at their house. Mr. Lake was the quieter of the two, but I can clearly remember the twinkle in his eye and his dry wit and gentle good humor. I can also still hear him clearing his throat before quietly bringing one of us gently back into line. I hope that many happy memories of him lessen the sadness of his passing for the family.

I’m sorry I will be unable to attend the services and extend my sincere condolences to Allen, Virginia and Libby.

We were sorry to hear about Tom. Your Mother and Dad were always smiling and so gracious and welcoming. They lived wonderful lives, and were great citizens of New Carlisle. May you all find peace and comfort during these difficult times. God Bless.
