Robert E. Elston, 79, of South Bend, Indiana passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019. He was born November 17, 1939 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Walter R. and Ethel Maye (Ramsyer) Elston. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Sally (Parish) Elston. He is also survived by his son Tim Elston, three grandchildren Nicole Elston, Joseph (Rina) Elston, Lizabeth (Michael) Frissore, and two sisters Ann Long and Mary (Don) Decker.
Robert was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and a current member of Moose Lodge 599, Elkhart, IN. He was on the Moose Charities Board from 1990-2005 and served in the past as an Indiana President for the Loyal Order of the Moose.
Along with his two sons Robert started his own business, Elston Amusement, a bingo and gaming supply company. He worked proudly beside his sons before deciding it was time to retire. Even after retiring Robert never lost his passion for the business. With a head for numbers he continued to handle the financials within the company and kept a vested interest in the company.
In his free time Robert enjoyed playing cards, especially poker. He also liked fishing, a leisurely game of golf, and building a good puzzle.
Robert was preceded in death by his eldest son Robert “Scott” Elston.
