Richard “Rick” Lee Seidl, 65, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. He was born on July 22, 1953 in Muskegon, Michigan, to the late Leo William and Alma Jane (Knutson) Seidl. On August 10, 1974, in Milburn Boulevard Church of Christ in Mishawaka, Indiana, Rick married Nancy Ann Bonczynski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda (Martin) Silva of Elkhart, Indiana and Jennifer (Jeff) Namenye of Mishawaka, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ciera, Ethan and Kiersten Silva and Anthony Namenye; and one sister, Marna (Michael) O’Grady of Twin Lakes, Michigan. Rick was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Silva and his infant sister, June Seidl. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Rick retired from Honeywell after 34 years of service. He was a member of the South Bend Civil Reserves and the St. Joseph County Sheriff Reserves, and was currently working part-time at St. Mary’s College. He was also a longtime member of Bowlers Country Club and an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, and golfer. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, October 26, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, with full military rites.
