Myrtle “Mitzie” Jerzykowski, 95, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

She was born on May 27, 1922 to the late Herbert and Helen (Woodbury) Rollins in East Concord, VT, and has lived in South Bend most of her life.  Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Rollins.

Myrtle retired in 1992 from The Associates, where she worked for 30 years in Accounting, both in South Bend, IN and then Irving, TX.  She later worked part time at the University of Notre Dame, where she worked as a Monitor in the South Dining Hall from 1996 until 2015.

On June 9, 1944, as Myrtle “Mitzie” Rollins, she married John Jerzykowski, Sr. in Barton, VT.  He passed away on July 29, 1969.

Mitzie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (William) McHenry of Lufkin, TX; her son, John (Virginia) Jerzykowski, Jr. of Buchanan, MI; seven grandchildren, John (Airasellie) Jerzykowski, IV; Robbee (Matt) Center; Tammy (Royce) Willmon; Jennifer (John) May; Billy (Rique) McHenry; Kristopher (Rebekah)McHenry; and Melissa Jerzykowski; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Doris (Carrol) LaClair of Summerfield, FL; Joan (George) Frobig of Plymouth, MA; and Mary Young of Leominster, MA.

Mitzie attended Christ the King Lutheran Church in South Bend, IN.  She loved to tend to her flower gardens and is well known for having them look so nice.  Mitzie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  They kept her young. 

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN.  A reception at the church will follow.
