Karilyn S. Johnson, 76, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019, in her home. Karilyn was born on March 12, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana to Charles and Marian Boston. On April 21, 1962 she married Edward C. Johnson, who preceded her in death on July 18, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her two sons, Eddie and David Johnson. Karilyn is survived by her daughter, Rebecka “Becky” (David) Smith of Granger, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Shaunda Johnson, Crystal Johnson, Emmie Johnson, Samantha Johnson, David Johnson, Tyler Yarbrough, Makaal (Spencer) Sanders, Jensynn (Carter) Watts, and Camden (Lorey) Smith; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sherry Yoder of Tennessee. Prior to retirement, she had been employed with the former Uniroyal Corporation and operated several entrepreneurial businesses with her husband, Ed. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, 930 Park Place, Mishawaka, IN. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Karilyn enjoyed fishing, reading, and playing Euchre. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
