Julia M. Parkhouse, 100, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018, in Miller’s Merry Manor. Julia was born on July 16, 1918 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana to William H. and Emily E. (Halter) Fissgus, and had lived in New Carlisle for 80 years. She retired from the former Miller’s Home Café in 1979, where she was employed for 15 years. On July 1, 1939, in New Carlisle, she married Charles H. Parkhouse, who preceded her in death on June 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Piper; and two brothers, William Fissgus who died as a baby and John W. Fissgus. Julia is survived by her daughter, Rene S. (Ralph) Morris of North Liberty, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Jacob Charles Morris and Jared Phillip (Olivia) Morris. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Olive Chapel Church. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana and from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Church.
