Judith A. (Weaver) Givens, age 67, died January 12, 2018 at home in South Bend, IN.

Judy was born in Fremont, OH on March 16, 1950, the oldest daughter of James and Lois (Escott) Weaver.

She graduated in 1968 from St. Joseph High School  in Fremont, OH..

Judy was a legal secretary in both Fremont and Toledo, Ohio. She also was the assistant to the Director of Development at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She was the Executive Director of the Northwestern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (based in Toledo) and later became the Assistant Director of the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (based in Saginaw, MI). Judy was also the Walk America Coordinator for the March of Dimes in both Chicago, Illinois, and Orlando, Florida. She was a legal secretary in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA, and also worked as a church secretary in Denton TX. In 1990, Judy moved to South Bend. She received her Paralegal certificate from IUSB South Bend in June, 1998, and worked as a Paralegal for Attorney Michael C. Murphy from 1993 to 2004. She also worked for Attorney James Kuehl from 2005 until her retirement in 2011. She worked part-time from July 2008, until May 2009, as a greeter at Walmart.

Her parents preceded her in death, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She will be missed by her loving companion, Bob Anderson, and is also survived by her brothers, James G. (Marsha) Weaver of Fremont, Ohio, John R. (Diane) Weaver of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her sisters, Jane M. (Gene) Orndorff of Fremont, Ohio and Jill P. (Bill) Sowers of Bellevue, Ohio. Other survivors include 9 nieces, (Bernadette, Cara, Carnie, Amy, Jackie, Jenny, Kristy, Patrice and Leslie) and 7 nephews (Art, Tony, Andy, Mike, Bill, Joel and Jake) and 11 great nieces (Lauren C., Lauren M. Sarah, Ryley, Emily, McKenna, Taylor, Kylie, Reagan, Mikaelin and Alise); and 11 great nephews (Reed, Ethan, Hunter, Jack, Drew, Art, Jace, Austin, Logan, Aaron and Callen), numerous cousins and her special Aunt and Uncle (Dick and Pat Escott) of Toledo, Ohio

Judy was a Hospice volunteer for many years.

Special thanks to (everyone who was there at the end). Her life was enriched by each and every one of you.

Visitation will be from 11a.m – 1 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. 

Graveside Services and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018 in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont, OH.
