To the Sassano Family,
My condolences to you all. Your Dad never seemed to forget any names which I thought was unbelievable. He would always say hi to me and asked how I was doing. That is something that I will remember forever.
God Bless you all.

As the announcer for the Notre Dame Marching Band, I was often in the P.A. booth with Joe on game days. I was always impressed with his professionalism and, as a spotter, his quick figuring and accuracy with the numbers.

He always had a cheery "hello" for me through the years. My condolences in the loss of a fine man......now and in the days ahead.

Sincerely, Jon Thompson ("JT").....WSBT Radio...............

I was NOT a football player but Coach Joe's teams made all of us proud to be Weber Men! Beyond that, he was loved by his players and coligues which is a testimant to him as a man!.
I know this is a difficult time but I'm sure Coach Joe is smiling down on all of us. My wife Naomi and I will remember Coach Joe and his family in our prayers.

As a former player for the Red Horde you were an inspiration to me on my future life. As a young man I realized you taught and coached with honesty and dignity. You showed a great example to the men you touched. I followed in your footsteps as a teacher and Head Football coach. Mainly because of the example you set. I'm deeply saddened by your passing. I extend my sincerest condolences to the Sassano family. Rest in piece coach. Len Janik

Dear Joe and family, So sorry to read of the passing of your father. He was such a nice man,, did not know him well but introduced myself to him at the Joyce Center as he went up and down those stairs so many times.. He stopped and talked with us and I told him to remind you of those oatmeal no-bake cookies you make. He just laughed. It is so hard to lose a parent but we were lucky to have them as long as the Good Lord allowed us. My sympathies to you and your family.............Jan McCormack (PHS office)

So many memories. Close to 30 years working together in the Notre Dame PA booth.
And it was Joe who set up one of my greatest memories. The night I met Bruce Springsteen.
Forever appreciative of all he did for me.
