John E. Varga

John E. Varga, 56, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018. John was born on May 7, 1961 in South Bend, to Emery P. and Barbara J. (Pletcher) Varga. He is survived by one daughter, Nichole (Adam Carroll) Varga of South Bend, Indiana; one son, Tyris (Francesca) Varga of Osceola, Indiana; three grandchildren, Arianna and Athena Alvarez and Avabelle Varga. Other survivors include three sisters, Victoria (Paul) Ransberger of Indianapolis, Indiana, Susan (Mark) Pool of Indianapolis, Indiana and Sandra (Brian) Souza of Granger, Indiana. John loved to fish and be in the outdoors. He enjoyed painting and cooking, especially creating his own recipes. John cherished time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as the family dog, Molly. John had a smile that lit up the room and always had something to smile or laugh about. Although he was in great physical pain, he always managed to crack a joke or smile to reassure his family that he was was still trying to stay strong. John had a charismatic personality and made friends wherever he went. He was a gifted story teller painting pictures with his words to whoever he met. Visitation for John will be on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
