Jeffery Michael Bradley Obituary

Jeffery Michael Bradley peacefully transitioned into the Kingdom of Heaven on July 20, 2018 at Village Place, Long Term Care and Rehab Facility in Port Charlotte, Florida after fighting a long and hard battle. Preceding Jeff in death was his father Marshall W. Bradley, who passed away on November 15, 2006.  Jeff leaves behind his loving & dedicated wife, Joan, of 23 years, two daughters, Rachel Bradley Brown (Chad & son Daniel) and Darla Karafa (Andy) and four grandchildren, AJ, Lila, Iris and Walker, his mother Kathleen, two sisters, Marsha (Dennis) Meuleman and Colleen Hawkins and one brother Eldon (Esther) Bradley.  Jeff was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #5570 and the American Legion Post of Rotonda West, Florida.  Jeff’s career was in construction management where he used his skills & talents as ‘construction project manager’. He took great pride in the many construction projects he oversaw through the years.  Jeff and Joan moved to Southwest Florida in 2016 so he could enjoy being outdoors all year round, where every day he would swim and ride the bike he had built to accommodate his weaknesses.  Among Jeff’s many passions were spending time with his grandchildren, playing golf, riding motorcycles, camping, and working out.  He also loved attending Notre Dame Football and basketball games as well as Chicago White Sox games (his favorite team). He enjoyed a little Crown Royal on the rocks once in a while. After graduating from Washington High School in 1969 he immediately joined the United States Army, where he proudly served in The Old Guard from 1969-1971 with the rank of E5 Sergeant. Jeff had an infectious smile & beautiful blue eyes, seeing good in everyone. Jeff was truly honest, kind, compassionate, strong, and very driven. He inspired so many with his courage and dedication as he continued to fight through the disabilities he sustained in 2010 from a hemorrhagic stroke and the many medical obstacles that followed. He spent many years at Memorial Lifestyle Center walking and working out with personal trainers, who were all inspired by his dedication and hard work. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and many friends.  The Bradley family will receive visitors on Sunday, August 12 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. A Military Service will be held at 5 p.m. and Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the Notre Dame Campus on Monday, August 13 at 9:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, please make charitable contributions to Tidewell Hospice, Englewood Office, 12034 N. Access Road, Port Charlotte, FL   33981. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
