Janet Lynn Reiter

Janet Lynn Reiter, 56, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2019, in her home.  Janet was born on August 23, 1962 in Mishawaka, Indiana to  George and Sara (Mowers) Dahms. She was a 1980 graduate of Penn High School.  Janet had been employed with MBA Select.  On July 7, 1984, she married Timothy J. Reiter, who survives.  Also surviving are her two children, Jessica (Bryan) Horvath and Zachary Reiter both of South Bend, Indiana; two grandchildren, Joseph and Halle Horvath; two sisters, Sharon Babkoff and Karen (Doug) Geehring both of South Bend, Indiana; and two brothers, Michael Dahms and Patrick (Michele) Dahms both of South Bend, Indiana.  She was preceded in death by her parents George and Sara (Mowers) Dahms and her brother, Timothy Scott Dahms. To know Janet, was to know her family and to be welcomed into it as one of her own.  She was fiercely loyal and loved her husband, children, and grandchildren to the moon and back.  She supported her friends and family through their best and worst times. She touched the hearts and lives of every person that was lucky enough to have met her.  She taught us how to fight and how to love and did both with grace and honor until her final breath.  Her incredible spirit will live on through all of those that she loved and she will never be forgotten. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.  A visitation will held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.  Janet was a member of Granger Community Church and found strength through her faith.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Center for Hospice Care.  To send online condolences, please visit kaniewski.com
