Surrounded by his loving family, James went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday November 18, 2018. James was born in Chicago, Il to the union of James Matthew and Helen ( Jelen) Gloster. He moved with his family to South Bend in 1948. He attended St. Joseph Grade school and graduated from St. Joseph High School. He also attended Holy Cross Junior College, and IUSB where he received a Bachelors and Associates degree.
On November 5, 2016 James married his Soulmate Cindi (Wigley) Gloster who survives him. Along with her he is survived by his children Dennis John Gloster II (Julietta) of Eagle Pass , Tx, Lee Carrol Gloster (Laura) of Cordova, Tn, Valerie Dircks (David) of West Lafayette, In, Jon Paul Gloster (Amanda) of South Bend, In, Richard Chandonia of New Mexico. Stepchildren RJ, Philip, Aaron,& Bryanna Morehouse, Teresa Gorney (Jack) of South Bend, and Ron Morehouse (Jennifer) of South Bend.
He is also survived by his Brother Jerry (Marge) Gloster of South Bend, and Lee (Lisa Cunningham) Gloster of South Bend
He is also survived by 26 Grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis Gloster and Sister Patricia Lieben, along with his former wives with whom he remained friends Janet, and Frances
He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965
He was employed as a night auditor at the University of Notre Dame Morris Inn for 34 Years, and also was employed at Yellow cab for 21 years.
He Joined AA in 1979 where he was able to become sober and remained so for the rest of his life.
In 1992 he dedicated his life to the Lord and continued to grow daily in his faith and belief. He attended Sonlight Fellowship church.
James enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and collecting coffee cups.
He was an avid Notre Dame football fan!
He will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
