Gertrude "Betty" McDonald

Gertrude “Betty” M. McDonald, 90, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in LaPorte Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1927 in Idaville, Indiana to the late James and Icel  (Barnes) McClure. On July 10, 1948 she married Carl V. McDonald who preceded her in death. Gertrude is survived by two daughters Carla (James) Barnes of New Carlisle, Indiana and Jean Stewart of Laporte, Indiana; two grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Alander and Michelle (Chris) Kohler; four great-grandchildren Aidan, Avery, Gabriel, and Jessica. Other survivors include three sisters Peggy Zolman, Sharon McClure, and Roberta (Bobby) Panozzo. Gertrude was a longtime member of the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the VFW women’s auxiliary in Rolling Prairie. Visitation for Gertrude will be on Monday December 4, 2017 from 11:00 until 1:00 pm est. in the Kaniewski Funeral Home 201 S. Filbert St, New Carlisle, Indiana. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm est. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.
