Gertrude Singleton

Gertrude Singleton, 105, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 7:42 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, in her home.  Gertrude was born on November 13, 1913 in South Bend, Indiana to Harry and Florence (Pratz) Van Lue.  On January 23, 1958 she married Norman Singleton, who preceded her in death on February 17, 1982.  She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patty Jo Baker; two sons, Carlos and Gene Kelly; two sisters, Virginia Riffel and Alice Johnson; and two brothers, Edward and Raymond Van Lue.  Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Lu An La Bere of Bridgeview, Illinois and Debra Kay Singleton of Terre Haute, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana.  Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
