Eugene E. "Gene" Lineberry, 89, of Rolling Prairie, IN, passed away at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 22, 1927 to the late Raymond P. and Mary Barbara (Shenoha) Lineberry in LaPorte, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Lineberry.

Gene served 27 months as a Navy Seabee at the end of World War II.  He used this experience to continue into the carpentry field. 

He retired in 1990 from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local 413, where he worked as a Carpenter for several years.

On December 31, 1949, he married his high school sweetheart Anna M. Miller at the Community Christian Church in New Carlisle, IN.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Anna M. Lineberry of Rolling Prairie, IN; two daughters, Susan (James) Golden of New Carlisle, IN; Marsha (Keith) Morgan of Newnan, GA; one son, Larry Lineberry of Rolling Prairie, IN; five grandchildren, Adam (Mikayla) Golden; Samantha (Tim Ekovich) Lineberry; Olivia Lineberry; Lukas Morgan; and Danielle Morgan; and one great-grandchild, Addley Ekovich.

Gene was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #297 in New Carlisle, IN; and a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local 413.

Gene loved hunting, fishing, bowling, playing horseshoes, and winning his hand in Euchre.  He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs Fan and enjoyed all sports especially watching his grandchildren play.

Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. 

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, where Military Services will follow.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 E. Day Road, Mishawaka, IN  46545.
