Charles M. "Chuck" Voreis

Charles M. “Chuck” Voreis, 72, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019, in Southfield Village.  Chuck was born on January 7, 1947 in Marshall County, Indiana to Glenn and Astrid (Swanson) Voreis.  He served proudly as the Portage Township Trustee for 32 years.  On August 5, 1978 in Dearborn, Michigan he married Francine E. Nemeth, who survives.  Chuck is also survived by his son Charles Voreis of South Bend, Indiana; and two brothers, Kent Voreis of Elkhart, Indiana and  Richard (Kathryn) Voreis of Dallas, Texas.  Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 8, 2019, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.  Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p.m.  Chuck was an avid boater and spent many wonderful weekends with his friends at Eagle Pointe Harbor in St. Joseph, Michigan.  Another love of his life was his little white schnauzer, “Frannie Jr.”  Memorial Contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph County Humane Society.  The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Southfield Village and Michiana Hematology Oncology for their compassionate and professional care of Chuck during his illness.  A special thank you to Dr. Rafat Ansari and Brandy Farr, NP for keeping their word to Chuck and giving him more time
